Since our founding in 1999, we’ve been committed to fundamentally changing how millions of people worldwide navigate their cities. During all these years, Kentkart has been focusing on developing eco-friendly, smart mobility solutions that promote public transport and make our cities cleaner and greener. From pioneering technology that streamlines ticketing and reduces paper waste to implementing systems that optimize route planning and decrease emissions, we are proud to play an essential part in creating a more sustainable future for all.

1998

After its foundation, kentkart started developing its first Automated Fare Collection System for public transportation designed for smart cards.

1999

kentkart became a member of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP).

2000

kentkart won the SESAMES “Best Transportation Application” Award at the Cartes Exhibition held in Paris (France) every year.

2005

kentkart became the first in the world to incorporate Automated Fare Collection and Vehicle Tracking Systems in a single validator and obtained its international patent rights.

2008

kentkart Intelligent Transportation Systems were installed in Skopje (Macedonia), Aleppo (Syria), and Amman (Jordan).

kentkart started using Real-Time Passenger Information Systems of its own production

2010

kentkart became a finalist of the SESAMES Awards (Paris, France) for its “Infinite kentkart” application.

2011

kentkart Intelligent Transportation System was launched in Belgrad (Serbia).

For its contributions to public transportation, kentkart earned the right to become “A Member of Sustainable Public Transport” at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit held in Dubai.

With its KentClub Project, for the first time in Turkey, kentkart enabled public transportation smart cards to be used in small payments and shopping.

For the first time in the world, kentkart developed an On-Board Camera System integrated with the Automated Fare Collection System.

2012

kentkart took place among the first 10 Turkish companies that reached the highest export figures in the consumer electronics category.

The Science and Technology General Directorate of the Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology of the Turkish Republic certified kentkart Ege Electronics Inc. as an R&D Center.

kentkart became a finalist of the SESAMES awards (Paris, France).

The Intelligent Transportation System projects in Borsod and Vertes (Hungary), were undertaken by kentkart. 

2013

Lahore Intelligent Transportation System, our first project in Pakistan, was launched.

2014

Szekesfeher Intelligent Transportation System, our third project in Hungary, was launched.

2015

Baku (Azerbaijan) and Islamabad (Pakistan) Intelligent Transportation Systems were installed.

kentkart received the “2015 European Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Line Strategy Leadership” in London for enhancing the travel experience with smart transportation solutions. 

2016

With its “Open Loop NFC Mobile Payment” project, kentkart became the first in the “Transport and Ticketing” category in the “Contactless and Mobile Awards” contest in London (United Kingdom). At the same time, our company ranked among the top three in the “Best Industry Supplier” category.

2017

The Medina Project was our first undertaking in Saudi Arabia. Later, following the inauguration ceremony, Prince Faisal Bin Salman assigned Riyadh and Jeddah projects directly to kentkart, thereby prizing our tremendous success in the Medina Project. 

We introduced the “kentkart Mobile Ticketing Application” to Kansas City (USA) and our technologies reached North America. It allowed passengers to buy tickets, plan their journeys, track stop and vehicle information, and benefit from the local opportunities with the “Sights to See” feature.

2018

kentkart’s QR Code Payment Technology was introduced to the city of Doha (Qatar).

2019

kentkart celebrated its 20th anniversary.

2019 was marked by the successful implementation of multiple international projects. Our first enterprises in Ukraine (Lutsk) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo), and the second enterprises in Jordan (Amman) and Serbia (Kragujevac) made traveling easier for even more people. 

2021

The Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey awarded Kentkart as “The Best R&D and Design Center” in its category.

Belgrade Intelligent Transportation System project (Serbia), which we launched in 2011, was renewed after 10 years of success.
To the first project in South Africa (Mbombela), kentkart added a second one in Tshwane city.

kentkart expanded its presence in Pakistan after Karachi, the largest city of the country, was added to Lahore, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi projects.

2023

Kentkart became a finalist in the 2023 Transport Ticketing Awards for the
Best Smart Ticketing Programme with its “Enabling Concessionary Fares For
Open-loop EMV Cards” project.

2024

Kentkart became a GO SMART Award 2024 finalist for its contributions to
smart city initiatives with the integration of the earthquake victim e-
government database into its fare collection system in Gaziantep City.

The joint project of Gaziantep Municipality and Kentkart was honored with 3rd
place at the 2024 IoMobility Awards in Milan in the Enabling Services
category.

Kentkart received the 2024 Transport Ticketing Award in London for its joint
project with Mowasalat Qatar during the World’s biggest football tournament
in 2022. The project, chosen as the Ticketing Enabler of the Year, involved
integrating the Hayya Card (fan identification and an entry permit into Qatar)
into Doha’s public transport fare system.
